Cetiol HE (PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate)

A light emollient derived from coconut oils and glycerin. Cetiol HE acts as a gentle nonionic co-surfactant and co-emulsifier. It improves post-rinse feel in cleansers and shampoos (less tightness), enhances wet combing, and helps solubilize essential/fragrance oils and makeup residues—making it suitable for makeup removers. It blends easily without heating, works across typical skincare pH ranges, and can tune viscosity and clarity in surfactant systems.

How to use:

●      Add to the aqueous phase or post-emulsification; cold blend or warm gently (≤ 50–60 °C) until uniform.

●      Makeup removers: pre-mix with fragrance/oils, then add to Aqua to reach clarity quickly.

●      In surfactant systems it may lower viscosity; adjust with salt or a suitable thickener if needed.

●      Not a preservative—include an appropriate preservation system whenever water is present.

Recommended usage levels in skincare:

●      Toners/makeup removers: 0.3–2% (up to 5% for heavy makeup)

●      Facial cleansers/body wash/bath oils: 1–6%

●      Shampoos/2-in-1 products: 0.5–3%

●      Creams/lotions/serums (co-emulsifier/light feel): 0.5–3%

●      Bath oils/scrubs: 2–10%

Solubility:

●      Soluble/miscible in: Aqua, polyols (glycerin, propylene glycol), ethanol

●      Dispersible/compatible with: oils, esters, silicones (as an auxiliary solvent/co-emulsifier)

●      Gentle nonionic; does not thicken on its own

Applications:

●      Bi-phase makeup removers

●      Gentle facial cleansers, body washes, bath oils

●      Shampoos and scalp cleansers (improves wet combing)

●      Creams/lotions as a co-emulsifier and for a lighter sensory

●      Fragrance solubilization in toners and mists

●      Sugar/salt scrubs and bath oils (soft after-rinse)

Storage:
Keep tightly closed in a clean Container, protected from light and moisture, at a moderate temperature (below 25 °C).
